In late October in Vladivostok, with the support of the Primorye Film Commission, the debut short film directed by Julia Vichkovskaya was shot under the working title "Carols".

This year, Julia graduated from the Australian Film School and her debut film came to film in her native city Vladivostok. The film tells the story of three friends - the girl Sasha and two boys. In the evening at Christmas, they go to carol, knock on their neighbors, people react to children in different ways.

Filming took place in a house in Vladivostok during the week. The actors of the Primorsky theaters also took part in the project.

This year the Primorye Film Commission supported three more projects of local cinematographers: "Look how beautiful", director Vladimir Sidenko; "Artifact", directed by Maxim Sapuntsov; "1/3", directed by Daniel Schvalboym.

Support for local cinematography is one of the tasks of the film commission. On the set, the local staff get invaluable experience, master different cinema professions, which in the future will allow them to work on major projects.

For educational purposes, the Primorye Film Commission conducts master classes of Russian and foreign professionals (directors, directors of photography, production managers, etc.). Visiting the master classes gives local cinematographers an opportunity to talk with people who shoot films at the Russian and world level, ask them questions about the practical part of working in the cinema.
