The Film Foundation and the Association of Film and Television Producers of Russia, at a meeting with representatives of Russian regions held in Moscow, named thirteen priority regions for the development of film and television production.

These list include cities such as Vladivostok, Ekaterinburg, Yaroslavl, Veliky Novgorod, the Crimea, as well as the regions of the Krasnodar Territory, the Irkutsk Region, the North Caucasus, the Republic of Karelia, the Rostov Region, Kaliningrad, Ulyanovsk and Primorsky Region. In the last three regions the rebate system already works.

Recall that the first subsidy in Russia for reimbursement of costs for film companies connected with the production of a film on the territory of the region was paid in the Primorsky Region for the film company "Mars Media" for the film "In the hood", directed by Olga Zueva. The film will be released on September 27, 2018. Also in Primorye, the first Russian Film Commission was established.

Priority regions were selected based on their transport and production accessibility, the choice of producers was influenced by the originality and picturesqueness of the locations. For producers, it was also important that the locations were different, therefore, different geographical points of the country were chosen.

The Primorye has always been of particular interest to filmmakers because of unusual natural landscapes, sea coast, taiga. Vladivostok is a distant and mythical city, located on the very border with Asia, divided by hills and connected by bridges, will always attract filmmakers from around the world.

Six of the film companies have already announced their intention to make films in Primorsky Region, including major Korean and Chinese studios.
