July 5, the Primorye Film Commission announced the acceptance of works for the First script competition, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Primorsky Region. The works were taken within a month, by August 5, 44 film script were submitted for the competition. 

On August 25 at the Amphitheater on the Sports Embankment there were screenings of the All-Russian Action Cinema Night 2018. The organizer of the action in Vladivostok was the Primorye Film Commission with the support of Administration of Primorsky Region and Vladivostok city. 

August 25 Primorsky Region for the third time will take part in the All-Russian action "Cinema Night". The event is held for the third year by the Cinema Fund and the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation in conjunction with regional administrations. Each year the number of participating cities increases.

The Primorye Film Commission announces the beginning of the acceptance of works for the Film script competition, timed to the 80th anniversary of the Primorsky Region. The competition of film scripts of short feature films will be held at the initiative of the Primorye Film Commission from July 5 to August 15, 2018. The scripts of the films, which take place in the territory of Primorye, are accepted for the competition. Timing of films is limited to 15 minutes. The theme of the competition is The stories by the sea.

The film directed by debutant Olga Zueva "In the hood" was filmed in Vladivostok in the fall of 2016. This is the first project in Russia that received a subsidy for cinematography organizations to recover part of the costs incurred in the region (rebate).

The Film Foundation and the Association of Film and Television Producers of Russia, at a meeting with representatives of Russian regions held in Moscow, named thirteen priority regions for the development of film and television production.

The meeting was attended by Vladimir Sokolov, Director of the Department of Culture of Primorsky Region, Nikolay Selyuk, deputy of the Legislative Assembly of Primorsky region, Roman Nechaev, General Director of GAU KPCC, Dmitry Shevtsov, head of the Primorye Film Commission. Chinese film company SHANGBAO JIAYI INTERNATIONAL FILM CULTURE MEDIA (BEIJING) CO.LTD. was represented by Baohua Li, chairman of the company's board, Dou Zhiyu, vice president of the company, Zi Jia, cinematographer and Russian partners.

Academy-Award winner Ross Kauffman and producer Alexandra Parker came to Vladivostok to finish the documentary shooting about the tiger conservation for Discovery Channel. 

On May 7, the crew of the project "Happy People" arrived in Vladivostok, led by director Dmitry Vasukov, winner of the "Laurel Branch 2008" award for Best Documentary. "Happy people" is a series of documentary films, the main theme of which is the belief of a man in himself and the survival skill in harsh environmental conditions. Previous films of the cycle were filmed on the Yenisei, the White Sea and the Altai.

On April 12, in Vladivostok, a new project of the director of the film "The Ice" Oleg Trofim was launched.

The 22nd Hong Kong International Film & TV Market - FILMART 2018 - the largest international film and television market in the Asian region took place in Hong Kong on March 19-23. More than 850 companies-distributors, film companies and film commissions from all over the world took part in it. The 22nd film market in Hong Kong was attended by more than 8,000 people.
